EYNSHAM HALL'S CHARITY CHRISTMAS FAYRE

Eynsham Hall would like to thank everyone who came to our Charity Christmas Fayre at Eynsham Hall on Monday 5th December.  This was our first Christmas Fayre open to the General Public so we were really impressed with the amount of people who came to support this event. Thank you also to the exhibitors for booking a stand and donating a raffle prize.

We raised a total of £673.27 for The PSP Association.

The PSP Association is dedicated to the support of people with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and the related disease Cortico Basal Degeneration (CBD).  PSP & CBD are terminal degenerative brain diseases and their causes are unknown.  The symptoms include backward falls and problems with vision, while CBD initially affects only one side of the body.  Both diseases rob people of their ability to walk, talk, see or swallow.  They are extremely difficult to diagnose in their early stages.  There is no treatment and no cure for either condition.  It’s estimated that around 10,000 people have PSP.  The PSP Association relies totally on voluntary donations.

If you would like to know more about this charity or place a donation, please visit www.pspeur.org

Witney TV & Des Dubber Photography came to this event and enjoyed a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie while capturing the evening in full swing!

FASHION SHOW HELD AT EYNSHAM HALL FOR THE GUIDEPOSTS TRUST

Eynsham Hall provided the backdrop for a catwalk show to raise funds for the Witney-based Guideposts Trust. The Fashion Show, which took place on Thursday 1st October, gave the audience an exclusive preview of the Autumn and Winter fashions from the new Debenhams store, due to open at the new Witney Marriotts Close shopping complex on 29th October.

The evening raised £2,255 for the Guideposts Trust and the cheque was presented by Jeremy Wall, General Manager of Eynsham Hall to Maxine Dadge and Stephen Paine, General Manager of The Guideposts Trust. Guideposts cares for people with Alzheimer’s, learning disabilities and mental health issues and provides opportunities for fun and education for children with special needs as well offering support for carers

Eynsham Hall offered the venue for the event in support of the charity. Amanda Baker of Eynsham Hall said, “We were delighted to help raise some much needed funds for such a worthwhile and often overlooked cause. It has also been great fun staging the Fashion Show and bringing so many local organisations together”.

NEW WEDDING TV SHOW FILMED AT EYNSHAM HALL

A new television programme for Sky TV channel, Wedding TV, was filmed at Eynsham Hall on Friday 25th September 2009. ‘Brides on a Bus’ is a reality show in which 10 brides-to-be travel the UK on a traditional red British Bus starting out from Lands End and visiting the country’s greatest wedding venues, sampling the facilities, accommodation and food on offer. The programme culminates in Greta Green where the last remaining bride-to-be (who has not been eliminated through competitions at the venues) will get married. The programme will serve as inspiration for brides-to-be and shows off Eynsham Hall’s fantastic wedding facilities.  ‘Brides on a Bus’ will air in February 2010 for 10 weeks and is presented by David Van Day.

YUMMY MUMMIES STRIP FOR CALENDAR SHOOT AT EYNSHAM HALL

A host of Yummy Mummies from West Oxfordshire have bared all in a fundraising calendar. Eleven women from Cassington, Eynsham and Freeland, near Witney, stripped off and were snapped in a variety of nude poses in the hope of raising around £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.  The scenes are reminiscent of the hit film ‘Calendar Girls’, in which a Women’s Institute group strip off for charity and which is now a West End  production.

The Yummy Mummy Macmillan 2010 Calendar, organised by mother-of-two Hannah Dunn, 38 who first started fundraising for Macmillan after her grandmother was nursed through cancer, was officially launched on Friday 25th September 2009. The launch was part of the ‘Largest Coffee Morning’ event attended by Wesley Smith, a local Oxfordshire News Reporter. To purchase the calendar, please call Eynsham Hall reception on 01993 885201 or contact Hannah Dunn on 01993 883 340 or you can visit the website www.yummymummymacmillan.com.
